What is the best proven way to get traffic to your website?
There are so many search engine companies out there. I tried a few and still barely any traffic. I’d appreciate some help..Thank you

Simple answer is that you can do a lot of search engine optimization on your own without paying other people to do it. For example, there are literally thousands of free directories which you can find at http://www.directorycritic.com which you can submit your website to–do it with your keywords in the title and you will show up higher for your keywords in the search engines.
If you are niche website, spend the time posting and advertising in forums, email lists, and so on.
